My Version of Black Out Poetry = Gratitude Art!

As you may know by now, I love my gratitude practice because it's brought so much to my life.

I also love to draw and create, so... I decided I'd have a go at some art that brings the two together.

I discovered (via a friend) this thing called 'black out poetry' on Pinterest the other day, and fell in love. What's not to like... pages of text from old books, art, creativity, playing with words... all things I love.

So, I decided it was time for a little adventure (I had holiday time), and dove in head first.

The idea, is to focus on simple, gratitude worthy things, and black out the rest. Kind of like the way being grateful inspires us to spotlight the positives in our lives and leave the negatives alone.

Wallah!

Gratitude Art!

You can see an example of one of my creations below, and find it to download in The Garden of Gratitude. I'll be adding more in there as time goes on.

All I needed was an old book page (found in a second hand shop), some artist's charcoal, and my trusty fine-liner!

This was lots of fun, and looking for the simple words describing things to be grateful for (that we might take for granted) was almost meditative!

You'll also find gorgeous printables, wallpapers, journals, booklets, templates, coloring pages, and info about gratitude blooming in The Garden.

30 + goodies created by moi!

I hope to see you in there soon - entry is free.
