It's a new week, a new 7 days to do things differently if I choose!
This week I'm thinking about some simple things I need to change to start a ripple effect in my life.... I'm going to stop watching the news in the morning before I go to work and put some invigorating music on instead.
I feel a week of Riverdancing in the morning coming on!
My Riverdance CD has some of the most poignant, inspirational, and blood pumping music on it.... I used to use it all the time for space clearing when the vibe in my home was feeling stagnant. It's a ripper for filling the air with a hum and a thrum that energises and makes you feel alive. A great way to get going in the morning!
Lately, I feel my brain is overloaded and overwhelmed. My energy being drained like sand washing away on the beach wave after wave. The 1000s of pieces of information that come at us every day and invade our thinking space are a phenomenal strain on our mental and emotional well-being.
I feel them numbing my vitality.
Tales of mass shootings, images of violence and disturbance blurring into a mish mash of turmoil and hopelessness (if I let them).
I like to remain aware of what's going on in the world, but for this week (and maybe ongoing for the near future), I think I can best serve myself, my class, and my community by showing up as a fully functioning, energetic, fresh, and open-hearted spirit who's not weighed down by a deluge of gloom.
I can't change the world.... but I CAN change myself, what I choose to watch or listen to, and therefore my outlook and attitude.
