Welcome to Monday Mojo & Magic!
How are you feeling this Monday?
Some days (often Mondays), I put off the things I really know I should be doing... but just cringe at the thought of tackling.
Sweeping out the shed.
Washing out the rubbish bins because they're cultivating a rather interesting smell.
Cleaning the tea stained mugs.
But, I also know, that the most effective way to get anything done is first of all to simply start.... and then let the momentum keep me going.
I don't have to be in the right mood, wait for the sun to shine, or expect inspiration and motivation to strike in a moment of epiphany (rarely happens in relation to cleaning the bins).
Amelia Earhart was a pioneering aviator and an author. She was the first woman to to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, and she received the U.S. Distinguished Flying Cross for this accomplishment.
Clearly, she was not one for procrastinating or waiting for things to happen.
She created her own momentum and propelled herself forward through an astonishing life full of admirable achievements.
Browsing her accomplishments on her official website is quite eye-opening. The woman was a powerhouse full of passion.
I wonder how she went with the tea stained mugs and the smelly bins?
I also wonder if Nike knew about the quote above when they coined their famous 'Just Do It' slogan!
This Monday morning I'm reminding myself that things won't get done by themselves, and the best way to get to the end is to 'just do it' and begin. (Then I can start using my sparkly clean tea mugs all over again).
Happy Monday everyone!
May your mojo and magic be with you this week.
