Monday Mojo and Magic: Yesterday I Was Clever...Today I Am Wise

Yesterday I was clever.jpg

It's a new week, a new 7 days to do things differently if I choose!

This week I'm thinking about some simple things I need to change to start a ripple effect in my life.... I'm going to stop watching the news in the morning before I go to work and put some invigorating music on instead.

I feel a week of Riverdancing in the morning coming on!

My Riverdance CD has some of the most poignant, inspirational, and blood pumping music on it.... I used to use it all the time for space clearing when the vibe in my home was feeling stagnant. It's a ripper for filling the air with a hum and a thrum that energises and makes you feel alive. A great way to get going in the morning!

Lately, I feel my brain is overloaded and overwhelmed. My energy being drained like sand washing away on the beach wave after wave. The 1000s of pieces of information that come at us every day and invade our thinking space are a phenomenal strain on our mental and emotional well-being.

I feel them numbing my vitality.

Tales of mass shootings, images of violence and disturbance blurring into a mish mash of turmoil and hopelessness (if I let them).

I like to remain aware of what's going on in the world, but for this week (and maybe ongoing for the near future), I think I can best serve myself, my class, and my community by showing up as a fully functioning, energetic, fresh, and open-hearted spirit who's not weighed down by a deluge of gloom.

I can't change the world.... but I CAN change myself, what I choose to watch or listen to, and therefore my outlook and attitude.

What are you going to try this week?

Anything new?

A simple change, no matter how small, can make a huge difference to your overall experience of life.

Happy Monday, Daydreamers.

May your mojo and magic be with you this week!

I Believe In.... [Monday Mojo & Magic]

When it comes down to tin-tacks... what do you believe in?

What would be your frittered down essence of belief?

I believe in kindness. Also in mischief. Mary Oliver. Circle of Daydreams. www.circleofdaydreams.com

I mention mine over on my about page... but this gorgeous quote, (stumbled upon over here on Meghan's most beautiful site) prompted me to dust them off again and share them here.

I Believe:

  • In cradling gently, and letting go.
  • In a soft heart, with stable boundaries.
  • Creativity + a curious mind = awesomeness.
  • Real books beat E-books hands down.
  • Every moment is mine to make the most of.
  • Making stuff soothes the soul....
  • So does music and dance.
  • Cats have eyes that see inside your heart.
  • Hugs are good medicine....
  • So is volunteering!
  • Magic is possible, it just depends on your definition.
  • I have all I need, and it's within me.
  • The best is yet to come.

Listing my beliefs out helped me get re-acquainted with myself and the things I love... and it felt good to be me!

Happy Monday, Daydreamers... what do you believe in?

May your mojo and magic be with you this week.

Play Is The Highest Point of Research [Monday Mojo + Magic]

Play is the highest point of research. Albert Einstein. Picture quote from Circle of Daydreams. www.circleofdaydreams.com

Albert Einstein has penned so many of my favourite quotes, and I seem to discover more and more as time goes on.

I ran across this one the other day, and loved it!

This Monday, I'm reminding myself that play is not inconsequential in the maelstrom of our lives... it can encourage insight, expand ideas, spark creativity, lead to pure joy, embed memories, drive out stress, and replenish our draining wells of energy.

For me, play is the simplest form of enjoyment, and the best way to tend to my inner child (before she throws a tantrum in the form of burnout and exhaustion).

This week, I'm going to find time to play.... even if I have to schedule it in like an appointment in my diary.

What are you going to do this week to give yourself a boost?

Happy Monday, Daydreamers...

May your mojo + magic be with you this week.

Do You Trust Yourself? [Monday Mojo & Magic]

It's taken me a long time to learn to trust myself... particularly my gut... my intuition.

And, it's a work in progress still, but I'm a lot better than I used to be! (There's a post in the not too distant future about that).

As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live. Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe. Circle of Daydreams. www.circleofdaydreams.com

This Monday, I'm recommitting to trusting my own inner core, and listening to the quiet yet undeniable messages it's whispering to me.

Happy Monday, Daydreamers!

May your mojo and magic be with you this week.
